According to her online biography, Sainte-Marie disappeared from the mainstream American airwaves during the Lyndon Johnson years. Her name was included on a White House memo listing musicians whose music "deserved to be suppressed," and radio airplay disappeared. She was even told by a talk show host that Native issues and the peace movement had become unfashionable and to limit her comments to celebrity chat.

Volunteers Sought in Horse Linto Interpretive Trail Restoration
Help promote environmental education and maintain stream enhancement structures that benefit salmon by volunteering on Saturday, Sept. 18. Trail restoration will begin at 10am at the Horse Linto Interpretive Trail, 7.7 miles northeast of Willow Creek. Volunteers are asked to bring water, gloves, and to dress in long sleeves and pants. Father’s Day Events Planned in Hoopa
Organizers of the Thomas Morton Memorial Scholarship Fund are hosting a Father’s Day weekend co-ed slow pitch softball and horseshoe tournament at Pooky’s Park in Hoopa on June 19 and 20.
