The New Klamath Deal

A water deal made hundreds of miles up the Klamath River between Oregon irrigators and the Klamath Tribes could have far reaching impacts for all tribes and communities up and down the river. Shown here: Buck Logan, Richard Myers II and two additional Yurok men brave the mouth of the Klamath River in the early morning hooking eels as they enter the river from the Pacific Ocean. Pacific Lamprey (Key’-ween in the Yurok language) are a traditional food source for local tribes./Photo courtesy of Monique Sonoquie.
