VOICES: Opinion by Penny Johnson, Orleans
Dear Two Rivers Tribune,
Hello Hoopa: Well guys, I’m sorry to say, this is the end for me. As I’ve been informed “Postmasters” no longer exist and life as I know it will never be the same. My doctors have concluded that my resignation is best for me.
I have come a long way I have been told. I seem to have lost the whole month of August 2011. I only remember my husband’s birthday on August 29. I have been told that many of you came to see me in Eureka after my surgery. For this, I thank you for taking the time to care. I have battled back from a really bad place but with lots of love and prayers I am here to stay, not 100 percent, but here to see my new grandbabies and be with my family.
I have always enjoyed my job serving the Orleans, Willow Creek and Hoopa areas. I feel I have made some life-long friends. I enjoyed sharing in your families, watching children grow up and start families of their own. Time keeps going and things keep changing.
I thank you for the privilege of serving you all. I hope you have a wonderful holiday season and I hope you remember me fondly.
Best wishes always,
Penny M. Johnson, Orleans
