Hoopa Couple Celebrate 75th Birthdays Together

You could say they got started a little young and it probably wouldn’t last – but you’d be wrong. Audry May Carpenter was born at the old Indian hospital in Hoopa on May 6, 1937. She was a preemie and had to stay in the hospital longer than most. Mary and Walt were proud new parents. Joseph Paul Beeson was born at the old Indian hospital in Hoopa on May 15, 1937. He was healthy and strong and the pride of new parents Marilouise and Ernie.
For the first few days of their lives, Joe and Audry shared the same incubator room. Some say they started  getting all “googly-eyed” way younger than you’d expect.  You just can’t be too careful when you bring children into this world.
In August Joe and Audry will celebrate their 56th wedding anniversary. Recently they each celebrated their 75th birthdays surrounded by their children: Julie and husband Rick Stewart, Joe Jr. and wife Catrina Beeson, Pattie St.Denis; Joe’s mother Marilouise Beeson; as well as their grandchildren and friends. Joe is a retired teacher and coach from Hoopa High School. Together they operate Joe’s Deli and Cup of Joe in Hoopa.
