Trinity Transit Expands Bus Route to 5 Days Per Week
Press Release, Trinity Transit
Beginning Dec. 1, Trinity Transit will expand its Willow Creek – Weaverville and Weaverville – Redding bus routes to offer service five days per week.
Until now, the bus routes connecting Willow Creek, Weaverville and Redding have only run three days. According to Polly Chapman, who coordinates the transit service for Trinity County, “These routes have been growing in popularity and ridership and passengers have been requesting five day a week service.”
Trinity Transit will operate two round trips per day on each route. The Willow Creek and Redding routes connect in Weaverville, where they also meet the Hayfork bus which already operates Monday through Friday.
In Redding, Trinity Transit serves the RABA transit center in Downtown Redding, the Canby Rd. Transfer center next to Mt. Shasta Mall, and the Turtle Bay Discovery Center. Riders can transfer to RABA routes for local trips to other locations in Redding (including the Redding Airport), or catch Greyhound or Amtrak at the Downtown Transit Center.
In Willow Creek, Trinity Transit has a timed no-wait connection with Redwood Transit System so riders can travel on to Arcata or Eureka on the Coast. There is also a connection to KT-Net which serves the Hoopa area.
Complete information about Trinity Transit service is available at a new website www.trinitytransit.org.
At a recent meeting of the County Board of Supervisors, Sup. Wendy Ott said, “It [Trinity Transit] is a really smooth system and I’m pleased to see it go five days a week.”
Sup. Roger Jaegel added, “I know a lot of people in Hayfork use it. The buses are very comfortable and run on time. It’s a great service.”
