Klamath Trinity Region to Honor Veterans

By TRT Staff

Orleans Elementary will be hosting a Veteran’s Day Open House on Wednesday, Nov. 9  at 1pm. For the last several years the school has gathered photos and stories of local veterans dating back to WWI. There are many pictures including members from the Ferris, McLaughlin, Beck, Allen, McCovey, Tripp, Peters, and Wilder families to name a few. Orleans Elementary will also host an open house at 1pm on Friday, Nov. 11 to view the collection, as well as a dinner fundraiser for the eighth grade class beginning at 5pm.

The Hoopa Valley Tribe will be honoring all veterans and invites the community to come out and show their appreciation of the men and women who have served and are currently serving in the armed forces on Friday, Nov. 11 at 11am in front of the Hoopa Neighborhood Facilities Building. Refreshments will be served after the ceremony in the Tribal Council Chambers. For more information, or if you would like to display veterans photos, please contact Darcy Miller at (530) 625-4211 x 393.
