TRT Editorial: Hunsucker Should Turn Himself In
First of all, the decision to publish the Two Rivers Tribune interview with Bruce Jason Hunsucker was not one taken lightly and came after legal and ethical consultations with professionals in the media field.
Second of all, the TRT staff and contributing writers agree that Hunsucker should turn himself in allowing the system to do what it’s intended to do. Regardless of how just or unjust the system is—it’s the only system we have. If it’s not used appropriately we are all in grave danger as a community and as a nation.
Hunsucker’s decision to keep running from the law will only prohibit justice from being served and further prolong a broken hearted family’s pain.
To Jason Hunsucker: Do the right thing.
The preliminary hearing in the Darrel Hanger Sr. Homicide began last Wednesday, June 22 and is expected to continue through June 29.
Judge Bruce Watson is hearing the case and will decide if the three apprehended suspects—Jackson Surber, Sonia Hunsucker and Samantha Smoker-Machado—will be held to murder and other charges.
Following his decision court transcripts from the preliminary hearing must be made available to the court within 10 days. Look for coverage in upcoming editions of the TRT.

Well said! I understand it was a hard decision to make, but it was the right choice. Prosecution and Defense….everyone has a story. It’s up to the judge to decide, and I hope he does what’s right…someone in this world should. I can’t understand why anyone would want to help him…I hope they are held accountable too! The TRT is an important part of this community and I hope it stays that way. There will always be critics, but keep your heads up and eyes open TRT, because they will always have their blinders on!
