Man Outruns Police Wednesday Night
PRESS RELEASE, Humboldt County Sheriff’s Department
On June 29, 2011, approximately 10:30 p.m. a Humboldt County Sheriffs Deputy and Hoopa Tribal Police Officer were working in the Hoopa Area when they spotted an All Terrain Vehicle (A.T.V.) traveling southbound on State Route 96, North of Hostler Field Housing. The deputy and tribal officer attempted a traffic stop on the All Terrain Vehicle for vehicle code violations. When the deputy and tribal officer caught up to the All Terrain Vehicle they recognized the driver as wanted murder suspect Bruce Stallings-Hunsucker. Stallings–Hunsucker has a one million dollar murder warrant for his arrest out of Humboldt County Superior Court. The warrant is for his involvement in the killing of Darrell Hanger Sr. in Willow Creek.
After the deputy attempted to stop Stallings-Hunsucker using the patrol cars red light and siren, Stallings-Hunsucker fled on the All Terrain Vehicle, running stop signs and driving on the wrong side of the highway. The deputy and tribal police officers pursued Stallings-Hunsucker who periodically would travel on roads and trails in the area attempting to elude the officers. Stallings-Hunsucker was last seen by Hoopa Tribal Police Officers eastbound, about four miles up Big Hill Road, Hoopa, off Highway 96. Stallings-Hunsucker drove his vehicle off the highway where the patrol vehicles could not follow him. The deputy and Tribal Police officers later located Stalling-Hunsuckers All Terrain Vehicle and Helmet in the brush. They searched the area but could not locate him. Additional charges of felony evasion are being sought against Stallings-Hunsucker.
His description is:
Bruce Jason Stallings-Hunsucker, also known as Bruce Hunsucker, 36 years old brown hair, brown eyes, five feet ten inches tall, 185 pounds, unknown clothing description
Anyone with information regarding Stallings-Hunsucker is requested to contact the Sheriffs Office immediately, 707-445-7251.

So damn disgusted with this, people need to stop harboring this fugitive, and especially when you “Tribal Police know that he is hiding out in certain people’s home’s on the Reservation, especially one home that is the property of the Hoopa Valley Tribe’s Housing Authority. It is understood, that the individual has been seen at several locations, and if Hoopa Valley Housing Authority participants are harboring this fugitvie they need to be evicted, and prosecuted right along with him. It is a Federal Offence, to be involved in any illegal criminal activity in your home. Tribal Officials need to look at what you were able to accomplish when the Humboldt State University Student drowned in the river on our Reservation. Now it is time for Hoopa Tribal officials to pull togher with the same resources and pull yourself’s together and enforce our Tribal Laws and Ordinances. People need to understand whether it is your own family and or friends, that if they choose to participate in illegal activity on our Reservation, they will be held accountable.
Whoever you are, stop! Look around and then look right and left. Now turn your eyes to the heavens. Before throwing stones and yelling fugitive, for you may notice someone close, someone you love, some friend may some day be on the run for their lives. Someone may say, they have to pay and haenged with out hearing the entire story. It is easy to accuse people of illegal activity, but if I am thinking right, there is no one and mean no one who has a clean back yard ord. If you look into the cellar you may see some horrific issues of where some one you loved was in the place or with the wrong people or maybe be a drug addict, a alcohic, secret crimes maybe hidden in the darkness of the cellar.
Can Humboldt County Sheriffs catch anything, we know the tribal police can’t, there just there to waste tax payers money. Countless crimes go unsolved in this area, admit it both these departments couldn’t catch there own @$$ with both hands.
Once someone in the community cayches him or Hunsuckers goes to Eureka and EPD catches him, Humboldt County DA will drop the ball and Hunsucker will serve minimum time for his crime anyways. Maybe EPD will get the job done for the tax payers if he’s foolish enough to be in their jurisdiction….
Tell the truth now cops did you see him or just think it was him think about is there no other indain with long hair that rides quad who doesn’t that descibe no one stops on a quad and there are many outlaws in the rez circle
I better see more nonlethal weapons sitting around is all I know
