Christmas Tree Lighting, Santa, Art Walk on Sunday

The Christmas spirit will be coming to town early this year, beginning with the Willow Creek Art Walk, sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce in conjunction with Studio 299 Center for the Arts. Be sure to keep Dec. 5 from 5 – 8 pm open on your calendar and visit this small, scenic community to get into the Christmas spirit.
“The chamber’s goal is to create an atmosphere that feels festive and holidayish,” said Mediha Saliba, Studio 299 member.
Businesses along Highway 299, the Coho Cottages, and some stores on Country Club Drive will be open to welcome strollers with Christmas goodies, warm cider, and hot cocoa. The business with the best holiday theme and Christmas décor will win a prize.
The annual tree lighting ceremony will take place as soon as it gets dark at the Community Commons area near the China Flat / Bigfoot Museum. As the tree is lit, other trees will light up to guide the way for holiday strollers.
There will be music and children will be able to visit Santa Claus. Local artists will display their arts and crafts at various locations. The weekend also marks the beginning of the annual Christmas Bazaar at the China Flat museum that is held for a total of three weekends.
“This will be a chance for people to come and get to know the area and see what Willow Creek has to offer. I’d like for it to be a time when I can bring in my grandkids and sing Christmas carols, kind of low-key,” said Saliba.
Parking will be available at street side. For more information, contact Tangie at (530) 629-3030 or Mediha at (530) 629-3488.
