Fruits of Labor

Yurok Tribal members pile dirt on the first tree planted at the new Ciue’ Kim Orchard near Sregon. The pear tree was the first of 70 fruit trees planted by a collaborative with Dreyers Ice Cream and the Fruit Trees Planting Foundation. Over 60 Yurok Tribal workers, NCIDC workers, and community volunteers helped plant peach, apple, cherry, pear, plum, and fig trees along the Klamath River on July 7. / Photo by Manuel Sanchez, Two Rivers Tribune.
